I’ve seen this car at the parking lot of the shop where I bring my cars for annual inspection and occa
sional tough jobs. Yesterday I got to hear
it idling. As I expected, it’s owned by one of the techs working there. I didn’t get to ask him what kind of work he’s put into it, but I think the sound tells most of the
story.

My first car was a 73 Maverick grabber. It had a 302 with a C4 transmission. The paint scheme looked like this, only where this one is orange, mine was avocado green. (Mine also didn’t look this good.) Today I would rock it in the factory colors and love every minute of it. In 1986 I wasn’t too keen on the green. :) I ended up selling it and replacing it with a 79 Malibu Classic which I was much happier with. I wish I had both of them back. :(
